Some homes are designed to impress. Others are designed to honor a lifetime of love.
This residence began with a simple yet deeply meaningful intention: two siblings wanted to give back to the woman who had given them everything. Rather than building an isolated home, they envisioned two contemporary residences that would allow their family to remain connected while respecting each person's independence. That vision became the foundation of the design.
At AV Design Studio, we translated that story into architecture through a composition of clean geometric forms, dramatic rooflines, and a carefully balanced palette of dark brick, architectural concrete, black metal, and warm natural wood. Every material was selected not only for its timeless character but for the sense of permanence and strength it represents.
The interior continues that narrative of warmth and connection. Expansive living spaces flow naturally beneath soaring ceilings, anchored by a sculptural fireplace and a generous kitchen designed as the social heart of the home. A long island encourages conversation and family gatherings, while natural light fills every room through large framed openings that dissolve the boundary between inside and outside.
The residence includes three bedrooms, with a private upper-level retreat that functions as both a library and a quiet lounge overlooking the main living space. One of the defining architectural moments is the staircase, conceived not simply as circulation, but as an integral design feature where custom shelving transforms the journey between floors into an experience.
More than a modern residence, this project represents the strength of family, the beauty of thoughtful design, and the belief that architecture has the power to tell deeply personal stories. Every line, every material, and every space was created to celebrate togetherness while embracing a refined contemporary lifestyle.
